Hardship case – Natural calamities

Submission of Application

1. Applicant to fill the Application Form within a time frame of six months of the result date and to submit same to the Taxi Operators Welfare Fund (TOWF) at Level 5, The Celicourt Building, Sir Celicourt Antelme Street, Port Louis together with the following documents (original and 1 copy):-
   1. Taxi Operator ID Card
   2. PSVL of taxi operator
   3. Police Report
   4. Report from Insurance Companies
   5. Report from a Registered Garage
   6. Bank A/c Number of taxi operator

Verification of Application

2. The Desk Officer of TOWF will verify the Application Form together with the originals and copies of documents submitted and will certify the copies submitted as true copy of the originals.
3. The TOWF officer returns the originals to the applicant and submit the application form and the copies for processing.

Processing of Application

4. The processing unit verifies the eligibility of the application against the following:-
   1. The taxi operator has a valid PSVL
   2. The taxi operator is compliant with the TOWF
   3. The taxi operator presented a Police Report and Insurance Report.
5. If the above criteria are met, the application form is marked as “eligible”. Else, the application form is marked as “NOT eligible”.  In case of clarifications, the processing team to contact the applicant.
6. The amount to be paid to the taxi operators to be calculated as follows:-
   1. Daily subsistence of Rs 389 up to a limit of Rs 12,075 for a month.
